Fly Reel Launch

Cheeky to Debut Stealth, Thrash and Dozer Fly Reels and Launch Dealer Program

June 21, 2012

BOSTON, MA – It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for—after over two years of development and testing, Cheeky Fly Fishing will launch its full line of five fly fishing reels in August 2012.   Whether you’re heading into the mountains for cutthroat or offshore for shark and marlin, Cheeky Reels will soon be available for all of your fly fishing needs.

Cheeky Fly Fishing will debut its Stealth 325, Thrash 475 and Dozer 525 fly reels at the International Fly Tackle Dealers Show in August, complementing its currently available Ambush 375 and Mojo 425 reels.  The reels will also be available for purchase through the Cheeky Fly Fishing Website by August 15th.

Machined from 6061 aerospace grade aluminum, and anodized to endure the gnarliest elements fly fishermen face, all Cheeky Fly Reels are built to last a lifetime.

In its 2012 Fly Fishing Reel Guide, MidCurrent claims, “The reels that have the most ‘breakthrough’ potential are the new ‘Cheeky’ models, which are both catchy and well-designed.”

The new reels will feature Cheeky’s signature Max Arbor, B2 Backing Channel and revolutionary strength-to-weight ratio, as well as a powerful, fully sealed synthetic disc drag system.

With its massive 5.25 inch diameter, the Dozer 525 is designed to withstand battles against the ocean’s most ferocious beasts.  The Dozer’s Max Arbor is critical for the blistering run of a mako, and the 500+ yard backing capacity gives you that confidence you need on the water.

From tarpon to roosterfish, the Thrash 475 is the ideal weapon for big game inshore fly fishing.  The reel’s fully sealed synthetic disc drag system has the stopping power to reign in the fiercest permit, and its easy quick-change spool is perfect when you need to switch from 9 wt. floating to 11 wt. sinking line.

If you spend your time crawling along the bank stalking mountain trout, the Stealth 325 is designed for you.  The Max Arbor minimizes line memory so every cast is crisp and clean, and the reel’s strength-to-weight ratio reduces weight while maintaining rigidity.

The Stealth 325 and the Dozer 525 will be featured at the IFTD New Products Showcase.
